Having our business directly in the path of the alley construction project meant our sidewalk needed to be torn up to accommodate the new utility lines. Inconvenient at times, but in true Pastrami Joe style, we took a good thing and made it better. We invested in the expansion of our outdoor seating and made our building barrier free. So you can soak up the best time of the year and get a heaping helping of fresh air with every meal. Incidentally, we would like to add that no taxpayers wallets were harmed during this expansion.

If you havn’t tryed some Bosserd corn, You should make it a point to do so before the season is over. It’s absolutley great…

You have to try one of the best salads we have ever offered. The Spinach & Chicken Salad is an old family recipe. And it sure is good. Freash baby spinach and herb grilled chicken breast with bacon bits, hard boiled egg, crumbled croutons with a sweet vinaigrette dressing.
We will be featuring salads all of August at the Deli

Do you have a favorite deli? (Besides Pastrami Joe’s of course)
Do we do something you like?
Did we do something you didn’t like?
I want to hear from everyone about anything food related.
Or anything else that’s on your mind…

On Saturday, July 15th, Pastrami Joe’s Deli and Take-Out of Marshall, MI, will be partnering with the Association of Independent Competitive Eaters (AICE) to host the First Annual World Reuben Eating Championship. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Child Advocacy Center of Calhoun County — the organizers hope to raise over $6,000.
Pastrami Joe’s owner Mike Caron said, “The Child Advocacy Center of Calhoun County does extremely important work. I’m pleased to support an organization that is dedicated to helping children who have been victims of abuse.”
The Child Advocacy Center (CAC) of Calhoun County provides a non-threatening, child-friendly environment for children who have been victims of abuse. It coordinates the efforts of prosecutors, child protective services professionals, law enforcement officials, forensic interviewers, victim advocates, mental health professionals and medical personnel in order to reduce the number of interviews that an abused child needs to endure. Studies indicate that requiring children who are victims of abuse to endure multiple interviews further traumatizes them. A coordinated approach also leads to more successful prosecution and effective follow-up.
Maria Markos, Coordinator of the CAC, said, “Children who have been victims of abuse need supportive, understanding, empathetic allies. We do everything possible to help these kids through a process that can be difficult and painful.”
More information about this fundraiser will follow in the weeks ahead.
